The H2n is the only portable recorder outfitted with five advanced microphone capsules on board. Its Mid-Side stereo makes use of a uni-directional Mid microphone in front and bi-directional microphone in left and right. The width of the stereo field is adjusted by manipulating the level of the Side mic for greater flexibility during and after recording.
The 90-degree X/Y stereo recording mode uses condenser mics that are on the same axis and designed to be always of equal distance to the sound source. Using the abovementioned recording modes together delivers a stunning 360-degree surround sound that can be set in either 2-channel or 4-channel mode.
